I am starting off my week on Tuesday (yikes) so we will discuss TOOLS! YEAH! When I first started doing makeup, I had no idea how important having the right tools was. With that being said...every week I will (attempt to) post about a particular beauty tool and explain the pros and cons of having that tool along with maintenance, cost, and my personal expectations and experiences. So here we go...
What in the heck is that crazy egg-shaped thing ^^ That my friend is a beauty blender and currently by far my favorite foundation/concealer application tool! So here's the nitty gritty on this beauty.
Pros- relatively cheap FLAWLESS APPLICATION QUICK APPLICATION easy clean up you don't lose a lot of product! fun cute funky for all skin types all ages
Cons- You will have to replace them most likely, often they get stained you expose them to the world (I like to store my brushes in a safe place, but that's another entry)
Maintenance- LOW Just wash after every use and initially. The sponge should get 50% bigger, so much fun!
Cost- ~$6-10 depending on brand, I found one for $6 at Ulta and I love it. Real Techniques is said to be the best one, but I can't attest.
Expectations- I honestly had low expectations for this when I first got it three years ago in a birch box. I was like wtf is this? Ill just use my fingers THANK YOU.
Experience- Overall, I would give this product a 8/10 only because you do have to replace them so often.
Tips/Uses- Like mentioned before always rinse your blender before and after application. Make sure the blender is completely rinsed out before using it, or else your face will look like a grease pot- yuck and plus you'll lose some of your wonderful product!
